Village of Croton-on-Hudson E-Notice
To the Croton-Harmon School District Community,
On Tuesday, January 24th, our community will be voting on a proposition to approve the use of $3.4 million dollars in existing capital reserve funds to repair and upgrade our facilities without necessitating additional tax increases. During the past two years, the Board has funded these reserves, and the January 24th vote is simply to allow the District to use money, already set aside, for these projects. Money from these reserves, by law, can only be used for capital projects.
This vote will allow us to preserve school infrastructure and address major school facility needs, including: repair and reconstruction of the bus loops at Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School (CET) and Croton-Harmon High School (CHHS); site improvements at Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School (PVC) to meet safety concerns; restroom renovations to be compliant with disability laws (ADA); upgrade the stage area and HVAC system (including air conditioning) in the high school auditorium; and renovation of the transportation facility to comply with building codes and disability laws.
The vote will take place in the Croton-Harmon High School Gymnasium from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
For further information about the Capital Reserve Fund Vote, please visit the front page of the district’s website www.croton-harmonschools.org , which provides many informational links.
We ask that you please remember to exercise your right to vote on Tuesday, January 24th.
