NYS Boating Safety & PWC Certification Course
Village of Croton-on-Hudson E-Notice

The Croton Yacht Club will be sponsoring a NYS Boating Safety & PWC Certification Course on Sunday March 15th from 9AM to 5PM. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be issued a New York State Boater Safety Certificate. You must hold a safety certificate if you operate a personal watercraft and are at least 14 years of age. Anyone may operate a personal watercraft if someone at least 18 years old is on the craft and they hold a safety certificate. All individuals born on or after 5/1/96 are now required to successfully complete an approved course in boater education in order to operate a motorboat. The approved course of instruction includes 8-hours of classroom training and a proctored exam. A course study guide is available on the website. Students must be at least 10 years old to take the course and the registration fee is $60. Attendees must pre-register through the NY Boating Safety website . Instructors are New York State and U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Certified. The Croton Yacht Club is located at 6 Elliott Way in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson.
